Services Asbestos Roof Cleaning

ECO-FRIENDLY, REMOVES BUILT UP DIRT AND ORGANIC MATTER. DELICATE AND NON-DAMAGING ASBESTOS ROOF CLEANING

Durable roofing, cleaning helps prevent potential issues

Asbestos roofing has been used widely in commercial buildings and some residential outbuildings. Whilst it's a durable enough material it does need to be looked after to maintain integrity for a long lifetime.

Many people will know working with Asbestos is potentially hazardous, it is regulated under the Control of Asbestos Regulations Act of 2012 and because of this companies need to be fully compliant when they have any dealings with it. Because of this Cambridge Soft Wash is fully qualified, trained and insured to clean asbestos roofing, we have also invested in suitable equipment to correctly carry out asbestos roof cleaning.

Diligence is important when it comes to cleaning

When it comes to asbestos roof cleaning health and safety is an obvious concern and usually means cleaning quotes are higher compared to other roofing materials. However we always endeavour to deliver a competitive quote whilst maintaining an exceptional cleaning service. We always carry out a thorough survey and risk assessment including following recommended procedures and guidelines for when it comes to asbestos roof cleaning.

Before any asbestos roof cleaning commences we will start our preparation process which involves sealing off and plugging any gaps to prevent toxic asbestos slurry ingress into the building, the next step is to carry out initial superficial cleaning to remove obvious dirt and organic debris.

Traditional cleaning methods aren't comprehensive

Traditional asbestos roof cleaning is sometimes performed by using high powered pressure washing, whilst this may remove dirt and noticeable organic matter there are various problems associated with this type of cleaning. Whenever you use any type of high pressure cleaning on an exterior surface you always run the risk of potential damage and unforeseen issues, when it comes to asbestos roof cleaning this is no exception.

Damage can remove parts of the roofing, allow water ingress both during cleaning and after and not deal with organic matter correctly. The organic matter may look like it has gone but traces will be left behind and flourish. Generally speaking cleaning roofing using a pressure wash is inefficient, not very cost or time effective and can require additional access equipment eg: scaffolding and ladders etc. The UK Government recommends against using any type of high pressure jets on asbestos as it can cause unwanted contamination.

Cost-effective, comprehensive and non-damaging cleaning

At Cambridge Soft Wash we don't use pressure washing. Instead we use a process known as softwashing, it has been used widely in USA/Europe and was established around 20 years to provide a non-damaging but cost-effective and efficient cleaning method.

Working smarter and achieving better results

Softwashing is smart because instead of literally blasting the surface we use the power of science via chemistry to remove built up stains and organic matter. When it comes to cleaning we have long reach poles which allow us to clean from the ground level, the soft wash solution is delivered via low pressure pumps and applied with either a soft brush or custom designed nozzle.

A safer, cost-effective and longer lasting clean

Softwashing is the best approach when it comes to asbestos roof cleaning as it's non-damaging, cost-effective and lasts longer. Once organic matter has been removed, the process continues kill organic infections continues to work up to three times longer compared with traditional high pressure cleaning.
